About N2 Rock n Roll

N2 Rock n Roll.com exists to help Rock Stars quickly and easily find the information and contacts they need to manage their careers so they can get on with the business of making music!

The music industry has changed dramatically over the past 2 decades. Advances in audio, video and computer technology along with easy45 access to the Internet have created a climate where musicians--not record companies--are in the driver's seat of their music career. Rock stars are no longer at the mercy of the record companies to get their music out to the world; they can just do it themselves now.

While having more control over the direction of their careers is a great turn of events for musicians, it can also be quite overwhelming for the growing number of self-managed, recorded and produced rock bands.

The old music industry business model made it so rock stars pretty much just needed to show up for their gigs and then show up for the busparty on the tour bus after the show. Record companies and various other handlers kept their rock stars insulated from such mundane tasks as writing a band Bio or sending out a fan newsletter.

The advent of social networking now provides an opportunity for bands to receive mass exposure on a scale that the old record company executives and PR handlers could have only dreamed about back in the day.

Website's like Facebook and MySpace have redefined what it means for a band to get started on a shoestring budget. A quick Google search will give any musician enough information to build a MySpace page as slick and professional looking as the ones built for top bands like the Rolling Stones or U2. Talk about leveling the playing field!

The downside to managing their careers from their laptops is thatlaptop musicians increasingly find themselves in a state of information and Social Networking overload. And with, or without, a record deal, rock stars at all levels are now expected to participate in their career to a much greater degree than ever before.

Many bands now continue to do it all themselves, even after the "new band phase" where that's expected. Instead of signing with a record label and management company to handle everything, rock stars now have the option to retain control over their art and then pay only for the products and services they need as they go along.

But doing it all themselves means musicians are on their own to find and develop reliable contacts in all areas of their career. Even if a heart tattooband has an enabler (friend/fan/relative/manager) helping with band stuff, then the enabler is the one who has to find those resources.

There are a lot of great products and services out there that are designed specifically to fill a rock star need but there isn't really any easy to find out about them.

Until now...
